GlycoVaxyn (Switzerland) a preclinical-stage company developing vaccines focused on bacterial caused disease, closed a $22M Series B financing. Participants include Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners, Index Ventures and Sofinnova Partners.

NanoBio (Ann Arbor, MI) a clinical-stage company focused on topical antiinfectives and mucosal vaccines for the treatment and prevention of herpes labialis, onychomycosis, acne and cystic fibrosis closed a $12M Series B financing. Participants include Perseus.

Genocea Biosciences (Cambridge, MA) a preclinical-stage vaccine developer focused on chlamydia trachomatis and streptococcus pneumonia, closed a $23M Series A financing. Participants include SR One, Auriga Partners, Cycad Group, Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Lux Capital Management, Polaris Venture Partners and Morningside Ventures.

AC Immune (Switzerland) an early-stage company developing therapeutics treatment for Alzheimer’s leveraging vaccines, antibodies and small molecules, closed a $34.6M Series C financing. Participants include undisclosed.

Vivaldi Biosciences (New York, NY) an early-stage developer of vaccines for the prevention of seasonal influenza and emergent pandemic flu closed a $18.9M Series A financing Participants include Bay City Capital, NGN Capital, New York City Investment Fund and Alexandria Real Estate Equities.

Apitope International (United Kingdome) developer of vaccines and diagnostics for autoimmune and allergic disease, closed a $12.8M Series A financing. Participants include Vesalius Biocapital, Vinnof and the University of Hasslet.

Immune Design (Seattle, WA) vaccine developer focused on regulating immune responses by targeting dendritic cell biology with combinations of proprietary vectors and adjuvants, closed a $18M Series A financing. Participants include Alta Partners, The Column Group and Versant Ventures.

Isconova (Sweden) developer of antigen delivery system and adjuvant platform, closed a $5M Series A financing. Participants include Innovations Kapital.

Okairos (Switzerland) a biopharmaceutical company using adenovirus-based technology to focus on T-cell vaccines has closed a €7.2M Series A financing. The deal was led by Life Science Partners and Biomedinvest and was joined by the Novartis Venture Fund.

AlphaVax (Durham, NC) a developer of vaccine products for infectious diseases (influenza & cytomegalovirus lead), biodefense and cancer, has raised approximately $12.65 million in Series E funding. Investors have not been disclosed.

Juvaris BioTherapeutics (Pleasanton, CA) an oncology and anti-infective vaccine platform technology closed on $6M of a $12M Series A led by Kleiner Perkins.

Variation Biotechnologies (Ottawa, Canada) a maker of vaccines for infectious diseases, has raised US$35.7M in Series A funding. The deal was lead by Clarus Ventures with participation from Arch Venture Partners and 5AM Ventures.
