Nitec Pharma (Switzerland) early-stage drug company focused on chronic inflammation and pain, closed a $22M Series C financing. Participants include TVM Capital, Deutche Bank NGN Capital, Global Life Sciences Venture and Atlas Venture.

Nuon Therapeutics (San Mateo, CA) clinical-stage biotechnology company developing therapeutics for autoimmune disease, inflammation and pain, closed a $27M Series B financing. Participants include Frazier Healthcare Ventures, Domain Associates, and GBS Venture Partners.

Cara Therapeutics (Shelton, CT) a development-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of therapeutics for pain and inflammation, closed a $12.3M Series C financing. Participants include Devon Park Bioventures, Connecticut Innovations, Ascent Biomedical Ventures, Mitsubishi International Corpo and Wistar Morris.

Medipacs (Tucson, AZ) early-stage drug infusion device company using hydrogel polymers to regulate distribution of medicine, closed a $1.7M Series A financing. Participants included Mesa Verde Venture Partners.

Concert Pharmaceuticals (Lexington, MA) development-stage pharmaceutical company focused on new chemical entities based upon modifications of validated drug molecules using deuterium chemistry, closed a $37M Series C financing. Arcion Therapeutics (Baltimore, MD) a clinical stage biotechnology company focused on the development of new, targeted treatments for severe pain treatment in diabetic neuropathy and post-herpetic neuralgia closed a $8.8M Series A financing. Participants include CMEA Ventures and InterWest Partners.

PainCeptor (Canada) a drug company focused on the treatment of chronic and acute pain raised a $20.8M Series B round. The deal was lead by Desjardins Venture Capital, CDP Capital, T2C2 Capital, Business Development Bank of Canada and Lothian Partners.

Horizon Therapeutics (Palo Alto, CA) a late stage biopharmaceutical company focused on development of drugs for pain relief has raised $15M in Series B funding. The deal was lead by Scale Venture Partners, and joined by return backers Sutter Hill Ventures and Pequot Ventures.
