Opthonix (Vista, CA) a commercial-stage medical device company providing high definition vision correction lenses addressing eye-to-eye variation, closed a $25.9M Series A financing. Participants include Kleiner Perkins, Enterprise Partners, DAG Ventures, Gund Investment Corp, InterWest Partners, Trex Enterprises and Wasatch Advisors.

LensX Lasers (Aliso Viejo, CA) an early-stage device company developing a femtosecond laser that can operate inside the eye to make cataract surgery safer and more effective, closed a $22.4M Series B financing. Participants include Versant Ventures, InterWest Partners and SV Life Sciences.

NeoVista (Fremont, CA) a clinical-stage device company focused on epimacular beta radiation for the treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration, closed a $18M Series D financing. Participants include Essex Woodlands Health Ventures, MPM Capital, Versant Ventures, SV Life Sciences, Carlyle Group and Accuitive Medical Ventures.

Glaukos Corporation (Laguna Hills, CA) a development-stage device company focused on the treatment of glaucoma, closed a $35M Series D financing. Participants include OrbiMed Advisors, Frazier Healthcare Ventures, InterWest Partners, Domain Associates, Fjord Ventures, Montreaux Equity Partners and Versant Ventures.

AqueSys (Duluth, GA) developer of a device for the treatment of glaucoma, closed a $9M Series B financing. Participants include AMV Partners, Carlyle Venture Partners and SV Life Sciences.

Oraya (Menlo Park, CA) a ophthalmology medical device company in stealth mode has closed a $18M Series B financing. Participants include Synergy Life Science Partners and Essex Woodlands Health Ventures.

EyeGate Pharma (Waltham, MA) a pharmaceutical company pioneering the use of iontophoresis technology to deliver therapeutics for ocular indications, announced that it has closed on a $2M extension of its Series B, bringing the total of the financing to $12M. This funding comes from the Nexus Group, the round was originally led by Innoven Partenaires [...]

NovaVision (Boca Raton, FL) a non-invasive device that may restore vision loss in stroke and traumatic brain injury patients has raised $20M in Series C. The deal was led by Chicago Growth Partners and included Johnson & Johnson Development Corp., Oakwood Medical Investors, Tullis-Dickerson, Noro-Moseley Partners, Crossbow Ventures.

NeoVista, Inc. (Fremont, CA), an ophthalmic device company focused on the treatment of age-related macular degeneration, has raised $41M in Series C funding. Essex Woodlands Health Ventures led the deal along with MPM Capital and previous investors SV Life Sciences, Versant Ventures, The Carlyle Group and Accuitive Medical Ventures.
