AirXpanders (Palo Alto, CA) a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on implantable breast tissue expanders for breast cancer masectomy patients, closed a $10M Series D financing. Participants include Vivo Ventures, GBS Venture Partners, Prolog Ventures, Heron Capital and Western Technology Innovation.

3-V Biosciences (Menlo Park, CA) a preclinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on host-factor antivirals for chronic Hepatitis C infection, closed a $20M Series C financing. Participants include Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and New Enterprise Associates.

Natura (Redwood City, CA) a clinical-stage diagnostic company focused on non-invasive prenatal DNA diagnostic tests for gene translocations, aneuploidy, single genes and Down Syndrome, closed a $20M Series D financing. Participants include Lightspeed Venture Partners, Claremont Creek Ventures and Sequoia Capital.

PowerVision (Belmont, CA) a development-stage medical device company focusing on an accommodating intraocular lens to allow for dynamic near and far focus adjustments, closed a $13.2M Series C financing, bringing the total round to $37.2M. Participants include Johnson & Johnson Development Corp., Venrock, Advanced Technology Ventures and Frazier Healthcare Ventures.

SG Biofules (San Desgo, CA) a development-stage biofuel company focused on Jatropha genomics as a feedstock for biodiesel, jet fuel and specialty chemicals, closed a $17M million Series B financing. Participants include Thomas, McNerney & Partners, Finistere Ventures, Flint Hills Resources and Life Technologies Corporation.

Aria Diagnostics (San Jose, CA) a clinical-stage molecular diagnostics focused on cell-free DNA (cfDNA) blood analysis of pregnant womem to detect fetal trisomises, closed a $52.7M million in Series C financing. Participants include Meritech Capital Partners, Venrock and Domain Associates.

Avinger (Redwood City, CA) a commercial-stage medical device company focused on optical coherence tomography imaging catheters for the treatment of Peripheral Artery Disease, closed a $22.5M Series C financing. Participants were not identified.
