Savara Pharmaceuticals (Austin, TX) a preclinical-stage developer of dry powder and nebulized-based therapeutic inhalation drug delivery platform, closed a $1.0M Series A financing. Participants were not identified.

Glycos Biotechnologies (Houston, TX) a development-stage biofuels company focused on production of intermediate chemicals for biodegradable, non-degradable plastics, surfactants and fuels, closed a $5M Series A financing. Participants include Draper Fisher Jurvetson and DFJ Mercury.

Molecular Templates (Austin, TX) a preclinical-stage company focused on a protein platform for the development of melanoma and other oncology therapeutics, closed a $2.5M Series A financing. Participants include Santé Ventures.

Orthoscan (Scottsdale, AZ) developer of medical device imaging products with a focus on orthopaedics, closed a $7.5M Series B financing. Participants include River Cities Capital Funds, Aphelion Capital and California Technology Ventures.

TelaDoc Medical Services (Dallas, TX) a commercial stage company focused on providing around-the-clock access to telephone consults with primary care doctors who diagnose medical problems and prescribe medication, closed a $3M Series A financing. Participants include Trident Capital.

NanoMR (Albuquerque, NM) early-stage blood diagnostics device startup focused on real time, ultrasensitive detection of samples, closed a $5.5M Series A financing. Participants include vSpring Capital, Dow Venture Capital and Sun Mountain Capital.

AmpliMed (Tucson, AZ) a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company with Phase II lead compounds for malignant melanoma and pancreatic cancer closed on $5M traunche of a $22M Series C financing. Participants include BioMed Venture Partners, Biotech Insight Ventures, Solstice Capital and Valley Ventures.

Cayenne Medical (Scottsdale, AZ) medical device company focused on ACL fixation raised $12.7M in Series B funding. Participants included Split Rock Partners and MB Venture Partners.
