Tigris Pharmaceuticals (Bonita Springs, FL) a clinical-stage small molecule company focused renal cell, breast and lung cancer, closed a $6.5M Series C financing. Participants include Wexford Spectrum Investors and Sonostar Capital Partners.

InVasc Therapeutics (Tucker, GA) a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the cardiometabloic diseases chronic kidney disease and atherosclerosis, closed a $3.1M Series A financing. Participants include Trois I Investments Industriels Internationaux.

Tryton Medical (Durham, NC) a commercial-stage medical device company focused on stents designed to treat bifurcation lesions, closed a $20M Series D financing. Participants include PTV Sciences, RiverVest Venture Partners and Spray Venture Partners.

CeNeRx (Cary, NC) a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on diseases of the central nervous system, closed a $10M Series C, bringing the round total to $14M. Participants include Aisling Capital, L Capital Partners and Pappas Ventures.

Liquidia Technologies (Research Triangle Park, NC) a development-stage company focused on improving delivery of inhaled therapeutics and vaccines via nanoparticles with optimized characteristics for increased target specificity, closed a $5M Series C financing, bringing the total round to $25M. Participants include Essex Woodlands Health Ventures, Investor Growth Capital, General Catalyst, De Novo Ventures, Spray Ventures and Quaker Bio Ventures.

Carticept (Alpharetta, GA) a near commercial-stage medical device company focused on a computer controlled infusion system for osteoarthritis and cartilage injuries, closed a $20M Series B financing. Participants include SonoSite, Domain Associates and New Enterprise Associates.

TheraSim (Durham, NC) a commercial-stage medical technology company focused on a suite of clinical performance management tools, closed a $1.2M Series A financing. Participants include Andromeda Capital.

PhaseBio Pharmaceuticals (Research Triangle Park, NC) a development-stage biopharma company focused on elastin-like fusion proteins for improved expression and purification of biological, closed a $25M Series B financing. Participants include New Enterprise Associates, Hatteras Venture Partners, Johnson & Johnson Development Corp. and Fletcher Spaght Ventures.

ABT Molecular Imaging (Knoxville, TN) medical imaging company developing a production platform to generate unit doses of molecular imaging drugs for positron emission tomography (PET) scanning at the point of use, closed a $9M Series A financing. Participants include Intersouth Partners.
