Miragen (Boulder, CO) development-stage company focused on the treatment of cardiovascular and muscle disease based on microRNA biology, closed a $8M Series A financing. Participants include Atlas Venture and Boulder Ventures.

SomaLogic (Boulder, CO) early-stage company focused on proteomics systems for medical diagnostics, closed a $35M Series D financing. Participants include Otsuka Pharmaceutical, Stronghold Capital, ProQuest Investments, Profundix and Quest Diagnostics.

Evolutionary Genomics (Lafayette, CO), a commercial-stage agricultural technology company with a proprietary gene discovery platform, closed a $3.0M Series A financing. Participants include Altira Group.

Axial Biotech (Salt Lake City, UT) developer of spine surgical devices and molecular prognostic diagnostic for adolescent scoliosis, closed a $6M Series B financing. Participants include Johnson & Johnson Development Corp., vSpring Capital and Ohio Biotech Group.

Taligen Therapeutics (Aurora, CO) a development stage biotechnology company focused on the treatment of serious inflammatory diseases including asthma, macular degeneration and immune kidney disease closed a $65M Series B financing. Participants include Alta Partners, Clarus Ventures, Sanderling Ventures, Tango and High Country Venture.

Q Therapeutics (Salt Lake City, UT) a development-stage company focused on stem cell therapies for CNS-related disease closed the first tranche of a $15M Series B financing. Participants include vSpring Capital, Invitrogen, Epic Ventures, Toucan Capital, University of Utah Research Foundation, Salt Lake Life Science Angels and Q management.

TechniScan Medical Systems (Salt Lake City, UT) developer of ultrasound technology for breast imaging raised $6.4 million in Series D funding from Green and Gold Holdings and private investors.

Glucon (Boulder, CO) developer of a blood glucose measurement system raised an undisclosed amount of Series D funding. The deal was led by the 3i Group and was joined by Sequel Venture Partners, Quest Capital Partnership, Hunt Ventures and previous investors Aurum Ventures, Giza Venture Capital, MKI, Infinity Venture Capital Fund and Ascend Technology Ventures.

iBalance Medical (Boulder, CO) a developer of axial knee realignment systems, has expanded its Series A round to a total of $13.5M. Return backers include Sutter Hill Venture Partners and Skyline Ventures.
