Swift Biosciences (Ann Arbor, MI) a development-stage company focused on molecular biology reagents for R&D and diagnostics, closed a $3M Series A financing. Participants include DFJ Mercury.

Coskata (Warrenville, IL) a development-stage bacterial fermentation biofuels company closed a $23.7M Series D financing. Participants include Total, Blackstone Group, Advanced Technology Ventures, Globespan Capital Partners, General Motors, GreatPoint Ventures and Khosla Ventures.

Delphinus Medical Technologies (Detroit, MI) a development-stage medical device company focused on tomographic ultrasound imaging for breast cancer, closed an $8M Series A financing. Participants include Arboretum Ventures, Beringea and North Coast Technology Investors.

Virent Energy Systems (Madison, WI) a development-stage biofuels company focused on catalytically transforming soluble biomass into hydrocarbons, closed a $46.4M Series C financing. Participants include Shell and Cargill Ventures.
