Profectus BioSciences (Baltimore, MD) a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical focused on the development of vaccines for chronic viral infections, closed a $5M Series C financing. Participants include Cross Atlantic Capital Partners.

Zephyr Technology (Annapolis, MD) a commercial-stage device company focused on real-time monitoring of human of physiological and biomechanical conditions, closed a $2M Series B financing. Participants include Motorola Ventures.

GetWellNetwork (Bethesda, MD) a commercial stage telemedicine provider of interactive patient care solutions, closed a $10M Series C financing. Participants include Johnson & Johnson Development Corp., Valhalla Partners, Grosvenor Funds, Point Judith Capital and Village Ventures.

Psyadon Pharmaceuticals (Germantown, MD) early-stage developer of glutamate transport modulation for CNS indications, closed a $8M Series A financing. Participants include New Enterprise Associates, Aberdare Ventures and Domain Associates.

Nexeon MedSystems (Charleston, WV) developer of a suite of cobalt alloy coronary and peripheral stents, closed a $24M Series A financing. Participants include SurModics and Guidant Corp.

Arginetix (Baltimore, MD) developer of small molecule inhibitors of arginase, closed a $2.3M Series A financing. Participants include Quaker BioVentures, MedImmune Ventures, Red Abbey Venture Partners, Maryland Health Care Product Development Corp. and Acidophil.

MacroGenics (Rockland, Maryland) early-stage developer of immunotherapeutics for autoimmune disease, cancer and infectious diseases, closed a $25M Series D financing. Participants include Nextech Venture, Arcus Ventures, Innovis Investments, Lilly Ventures, Alta Partners, CIDC, InterWest Partners, Mitsubishi UFJ, OrbiMed Advisors, Red Abbey Venture Partners, RiverVest, Texas Pacific Group Ventures and Ventures West.

Vapotherm (Stevensville, MD), a developer of high flow oxygen therapy products, closed a $20.5M Series F financing. Participants include GE Asset Management, Cross Creek Capital and Integral Capital Partners.

Arcion Therapeutics (Baltimore, MD) a clinical stage biotechnology company focused on the development of new, targeted treatments for severe pain treatment in diabetic neuropathy and post-herpetic neuralgia closed a $8.8M Series A financing. Participants include CMEA Ventures and InterWest Partners.

Bridge Labs (Gaithersburg, MD) a pre-clinical contract research organization closed a $18M Series C financing. Participants include Granite Global Ventures.

 
Sequoia Pharmaceuticals (Gaithersburg, MD) drug developer focused on the treatment of drug-resistant HIV infections, has raised $35M in Series C funding. The deal was led by Wellcome Trust and existing investors Healthcare Ventures, Sofinnova Partners and Aberdare Ventures. The round was also joined by MedImmune Ventures.

VIRxSYS Corporation (Gaithersburg, MD), who is developing genetic therapies for HIV and cancer, closed a $20M Series G round of financing, the company has raised a total of $87M to date.
