Adnavance (Canada) developer of DNA detection molecular diagnostic tests for MRSA identification closed a $3.7M Series B financing. Participants include GrowthWorks Capital, JovInvestment Management and Business Development Bank of Canada.

Affimed  (Germany) developer of recombinant antibody therapeutics had a second closing of an additional $7.8M Series B financing from Novo Nordisk bringing the total round to $47.2M. Earlier participants include BioMedInvest, OrbiMed Advisors, Life Sciences Partners and FirstVentury.

Ranier Technology (United Kingdom) a development stage company focused on artificial spinal disc replacement closed a $15.8M Series C financing. Participants include Alliance Trust Equity Partners and First Ventures.

Atlas Genetics (England) developer of point-of-care molecular diagnostics for bacterial and viral disease closed a $4.1M Series A financing. Participants include South West Ventures Fund and Finance South Wales Growth Fund.

Mauna Kea Technologies (France) a MIS in-vivo imaging platform has closed a $30M Series B financing. Participants include Psilos Group, Seventure and Creadev.

Endotis Pharma (France) a specialty discovery and development company developing small glycol drugs for thrombosis and oncology closed a $36.59M Series B financing. Participants include Wellcome Trust, Endeavour vision, NIF SMBC Ventures and Sofinnova Partners.

Circassia (England) a specialty company focused on controlling immune system responses closed a $21.8M Series B financing. Participants include Goldman Sachs, Invesco Perpetual, Imperial Innovations and Lansdowne Partners.

Caprotec Bioanalytics (Germany) maker of a mass-spec based compound capture platform for drug development and protein biomarker identification closed a $8.8M Series B financing. Participants include Creathor Venture, IBB Beteiligungsgesellschaft, ERP Startfonds and private investors.

Genizon Biosciences (Canada) is a therapeutic target and biomarker development stage company focused on Crohn’s disease, psoriasis, asthma and schizophrenia has closed a $31M Series D. Participants include BTF B.V.

IonGate Bio (Germany) developer of drug screening and measurement devices closed a $6.7M Series C financing. Participants include Heidelberg Innovation and KfW.
