Quinnova Pharmaceuticals (Newtown, PA) a commercial-stage specialty biopharma company focused on dermatological drug reformulations and foam delivery systems, closed a $17.4M Series B financing. Participants include Safeguard Scientifics, Thomas, McNerney & Partners, H.I.G. Ventures.

Activaero (Germany) a commercial-stage medical device company focused on patient-tailored controlled breathing and inhaled therapeutic delivery systems, closed a $15.9M Series A financing. Participants include BioMedPartners, VI Partners, Abalis Finance and Vesalius Biocapital.

Zogenix (San Diego, CA) a clinical-stage drug:device company focused on a needle-free delivery system of chronic pain therapeutic, closed a $51M Series B financing. Participants include Clarus Ventures, Domain Associates, Scale Venture Partners, Thomas, McNerney & Partners, Oxford Finance and Abingworth Management.

Liquidia (Morrisville, NC) a development-stage company focused on improving delivery of inhaled therapeutics and vaccines via nanoparticles with optimized characteristics for increased target specificity, closed a $7M Series C financing. DBV Technologies (France) a clinical-stage company developing of non-invasive epicutaneous diagnostics and immunotherapies for allergies, closed a $7.7M Series B financing. Participatnsc include ALK-Abello and Sofinnova Partners.

Chiasma (Israel) developer of Transient Permeability Enhancer technology designed to deliver proteins, peptides, polysaccharides and non-soluble small molecules into the blood to achieve clinically meaningful bioavailability levels, closed a $11M Series B financing. Participants include ARCH Venture Partners, MPM Capital, 7 Health Ventures, Ofer Hi-Tech and F2 Ventures.
