BrainsGate (Israel) development-stage company focused on electrical stimulation for CNS disorders, closed a $27.5M Series C financing. Participants include Johnson & Johnson Development Corp., Agate Medical Investments, Elron Electronic Industries, Pitango Venture Capital, MB Venture Capital and Alice Lab.

CoLucid Pharmaceuticals (Raleigh, NC) clinical-stage biotechnology company focusing on therapies for central nervous system disorders, closed a $25M Series B financing. Participants include Pappas Ventures, Domain Associates, Pearl Street Venture Funds and Triathlon Medical Ventures.

Collegium Pharmaceutical (Cumberland, RI) commercial-stage specialty pharmaceutical company focused on late-stage development therapeutics for central nervous system, respiratory and skin related disorders, closed a $20M Series D financing. Participants include Frazier Healthcare Ventures.

Peptimmune (Cambridge, MA) clinical-stage biotechnology company developing peptide and peptide-copolymer therapeutics for the treatment of CNS and Autoimmune disorders, closed a $8.9M Series D financing. Participants include New Enterprise Associates, MPM Capital, Hunt Ventures, Boston Medical Investors and Silicon Valley Bank Capital.

BrainCells (San Diego, CA) a biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of small molecule therapeutics for diseases of the central nervous system, closed a $30M Series B financing. Participants include MedImmune Ventures, Bay City Capital, Oxford Bioscience Partners, Technology Partners, Pappas Ventures and Neuro Ventures.

Q Therapeutics (Salt Lake City, UT) a development-stage company focused on stem cell therapies for CNS-related disease closed the first tranche of a $15M Series B financing. Participants include vSpring Capital, Invitrogen, Epic Ventures, Toucan Capital, University of Utah Research Foundation, Salt Lake Life Science Angels and Q management.
