Green Biologics (United Kingdom) a development-stage biotechnology fermentation company focused on bio-butanol for biochemicals and biofuels, closed a $6.1M Series B financing. Participants include Capricorn Venture Partners, Morningside Ventures, Carbon Trust Investment Limited and Oxford Capital Partners.

Coskata (Warrenville, IL) a development-stage bacterial fermentation biofuels company closed a $23.7M Series D financing. Participants include Total, Blackstone Group, Advanced Technology Ventures, Globespan Capital Partners, General Motors, GreatPoint Ventures and Khosla Ventures.

Virent Energy Systems (Madison, WI) a development-stage biofuels company focused on catalytically transforming soluble biomass into hydrocarbons, closed a $46.4M Series C financing. Participants include Shell and Cargill Ventures.

Amyris Biotechnologies (Emeryville, CA) a development-stage biofuels company focused on metabolic pathway transformations of plant-based feedstocks into different isoprenoids, closed a $47.8M Series D financing. Participants include Temasek Holdings.

Joule Biotechnologies (Cambridge, MA) a development stage company focused on the conversion of carbon dioxide into ethanol, closed a $30M Series B financing. Participants include Flagship Ventures.

EdenIQ (Visalia, CA) a commercial-stage biofuel company focused on lignocellulosic material to boost ethanol yields from corn and sugarcane, closed a $12.4M Series B financing.
