Participants included Sanderling Ventures, Burrill & Company, Triathlon Medical Ventures, Blue Chip Venture Company, American Bailey Ventures and CID Capital.

Regado Biosciences (Durham, NC) a biopharmaceutical company with a platform oligonucleotide drug-antidote pairing system focused upon the anticoagulant market has closed a $23M Series C financing. The deal was led by Caxton Advantage Life Sciences, Domain Associates, Quaker BioVentures and Aurora Funds.

CoreValve (Irvine, CA) is a medical device company introducing a percutaneous revalving system to replace failing aortic heart valves without surgical access closed a $33M Series C financing. Transoma Medical (St. Paul, MN) maker of implantable wireless monitoring systems for patients with chronic cardiovascular disease closed a $13M Series C financing. The deal was led by Canaan Partners, Affinity Capital Management and Polaris Venture Partners.

Advanced BioHealing (La Jolla, CA) a regenerative medicine, artificial skin tissue and wound healing company raised $25.5M in Series C funding.The deal was led by Safeguard Scientific and was accompanied by Channel Medical Partners, Red Abbey Venture Partners, Canaan Partners and Wheatley Partners.

Cara Therapeutics (Tarrytown, NY) is an emerging biotechnology company focused on developing novel therapeutics to treat human diseases associated with pain and inflammation has closed a $24M Series C financing. Investors included Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, Mitsubishi International Corporation, MVM Life Science Partners, Alta Partners and Ascent Biomedical Ventures.

MAKO Surgical (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) developer of a guidance system that aids in surgery for early-stage osteoarthritis of the knee raised $30 million in Series C funding. Investors included Tudor Investment Corp., Ziegler Meditech Equity Partners, The Exxel Group, MDS Capital, Aperture Venture Partners, Ivy Healthcare Capital and Sycamore Ventures.
