Taligen Therapeutics (Aurora, CO) a development stage biotechnology company focused on the treatment of serious inflammatory diseases including asthma, macular degeneration and immune kidney disease closed a $65M Series B financing. Participants include Alta Partners, Clarus Ventures, Sanderling Ventures, Tango and High Country Venture.

Adnavance (Canada) developer of DNA detection molecular diagnostic tests for MRSA identification closed a $3.7M Series B financing. Participants include GrowthWorks Capital, JovInvestment Management and Business Development Bank of Canada.

Vaccinex  (Rochester, NY) a research and development stage antibody platform company focused on oncology and inflammation closed a $25M Series B financing. Participants include Teva Pharmaceuticals, Pan Atlantic Bank & Trust, Biocon and Toronto Investment Group.

Affimed  (Germany) developer of recombinant antibody therapeutics had a second closing of an additional $7.8M Series B financing from Novo Nordisk bringing the total round to $47.2M. Earlier participants include BioMedInvest, OrbiMed Advisors, Life Sciences Partners and FirstVentury.

Q Therapeutics (Salt Lake City, UT) a development-stage company focused on stem cell therapies for CNS-related disease closed the first tranche of a $15M Series B financing. Participants include vSpring Capital, Invitrogen, Epic Ventures, Toucan Capital, University of Utah Research Foundation, Salt Lake Life Science Angels and Q management.

Moksha8 (San Francisco, CA) a diversified commercialization stage company focused on delivery of products to emerging markets closed a combo $15M Series B financing and Series A (see below). Participants include TPG Biotech, Votorantim and Lit Tele.

ViewRay (Gainesville, FL)  maker of  a MRI-guided radio-therapy delivery device, closed a $25M Series B financing. Participants include OrbiMed, Fidelity Biosciences, Aisling Capital, Kearny and Venture Partners.

Knopp Neurosciences (Pittsburgh, PA) a drug discovery and development company focused on neurological disorders with a lead compound for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis closed a $10M Series B financing. Participants include Saturn Partners, Kramer Capital Partners and LaunchCyte.

Mauna Kea Technologies (France) a MIS in-vivo imaging platform has closed a $30M Series B financing. Participants include Psilos Group, Seventure and Creadev.

Endotis Pharma (France) a specialty discovery and development company developing small glycol drugs for thrombosis and oncology closed a $36.59M Series B financing. Participants include Wellcome Trust, Endeavour vision, NIF SMBC Ventures and Sofinnova Partners.
