Apieron (Menlo Park, CA) a commercial-stage medical device company and developer of an exhaled nitric oxide monitor for the management of asthma, closed a $XM Series D financing. Participants include Onset Ventures, Alliance Technology Ventures, Canaan Partners and Draper Fisher Jurvetson.

Participants include HLM Venture Partners, Canaan Partners, Latterell Venture Partners, Technology Partners, Morgenthaler Ventures and Split Rock Partners.

LifeBond (Israel) a commercial-stage developer of wound-closure and hemostasis biomaterials, closed a $8M Series B financing. Participants include Pitango Venture Capital, GlenRock Israel and The Zitelman Group.

Xanodyne Pharmaceuticals (Newport, KY) an clinical-stage specialty pharmaceutical company focused on pain and menorrhagia, closed a $38M Series D financing. Participants include MPM Capital, AIG Investments, Aisling Capital, Blue Chip Venture Company, Essex Woodlands Health Ventures, HealthCare Ventures and Union Springs Pharmaceuticals.

miRagen Therapeutics (Boulder, CO) a preclinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of miRNA therapeutics for cardiovascular and muscle diseases, closed a $4 Series B, bringing the total round financing to $12M. Participants include Boulder Ventures, Amgen Ventures, Broadview Ventures, The Peierls Foundation and Atlas Venture.

Estech (San Ramon, CA) a commercial-stage developer, manufacturer and distributor of cardiac surgery devices closed a $8M Series C financing. Participants include NBGI Ventures, Saints Capital Everest, Telegraph Hill Partners and Waveland Venture Partners.

Versartis (Redwood City, CA) a preclinical-stage large molecule company focused on diabetes and growth hormone deficiency, closed an $11M Series A financing. Participants include Index Ventures.

HCL Clean Tech (Israel) an early-stage biofuels company working to convert lignocellulosic biomass to fermentable sugars, closed a $5.5M Series A financing. Participants include Burrill & Co. and Khosla Ventures.

Participants include HLM Venture Partners, Latterell Venture Partners, Oxford Bioscience Partners, Forbion Capital Partners, Giza Venture Capital and WRF Capital.

Sagent Pharmaceuticals (Schaumberg, Illinois) commercial-stage specialty pharmaceutical company focused on developing, manufacturing, sourcing and marketing pharmaceutical products, with a specific emphasis on injectable products, closed a $30M Series A financing, bringing the total round to $113M. Participants include Vivo Ventures.

Avid Radiopharmaceuticals (Philadelphia, PA) a development-stage company focused on molecular imaging compounds for diagnostic and detection use in Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s and diabetes, closed a $24.5M Series D financing. Participants include Alta Partners, AllianceBernstein, Safeguard Scientifics, Pfizer Venture Investments, Lilly Ventures, RK Ventures Group and BioAdvance.

Opsana Therapeutics (Ireland) a preclinical-stage small molecule company focused on autoimmune and inflammatory disease through toll-like receptor modulators closed a $4.6M Series B financing, bringing the total round to $27.5M. Participants include Roche Venture Fund, Enterprise Ireland, Novartis Venture Fund, Fountain Healthcare Partners, Inventages Venture Capital and Seroba Kernel Life Sciences.
