(Bothell, WA) developer of drug delivery catheters leveraging ultrasound technology for peripheral arterial occlusions and administration of contrast media, closed a $5M Series C financing. Participants include ARCH Venture Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, Merrill Lynch, Mitsui & Co., Spray Venture Partners, MedVenture Associates, Protostar, Technology Partners and Morgan Stanley Venture Partners.

Codon Devices (Cambridge, MA) constructive biology platform company incorporating informatics, robotics and sequencing technologies to synthesize genetic codes more rapidly and cost-effectively, closed a $31M Series B financing. Participants include Highland Capital Partners, Alloy Ventures, Flagship Ventures, Khosla Ventures, Tactics II Ventures and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.

Cayenne Medical (Scottsdale, AZ) developer of soft tissue reconstruction and repair segment for orthopedic applications, closed a $15M Series C financing. Participants include Investor Growth Capital and Split Rock Partners.

Calderome (Menlo Park, CA) developer of oncology diagnostics, closed a $23M Series A financing. Participants include Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, TPG Biotechnology Partners and Versant Ventures.

Breathe Technologies (Fremont, CA) developer of medical devices for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, closed a $15M Series B financing. Participants include Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Synergy Partners International, Delphi Ventures and Life Science Angels.

BrainCells (San Diego, CA) a biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of small molecule therapeutics for diseases of the central nervous system, closed a $30M Series B financing. Participants include MedImmune Ventures, Bay City Capital, Oxford Bioscience Partners, Technology Partners, Pappas Ventures and Neuro Ventures.

BioNanomatrix (Philadelphia, PA) developer of whole genome imaging and analytic platforms for genetic diagnostics and biomedical research applications closed a $5.1M Series A financing. Participants include Innovation Valley Partners and KT Venture Group.

Axial Biotech (Salt Lake City, UT) developer of spine surgical devices and molecular prognostic diagnostic for adolescent scoliosis, closed a $6M Series B financing. Participants include Johnson & Johnson Development Corp., vSpring Capital and Ohio Biotech Group.

Alimera Sciences (Alphertta, GA) focused upon delivery of therapeutics agents for degenerative eye ailments such as diabetic macular edema, age related macular degeneration and glaucoma, closed a $30M Series C financing. Accumetircs (San Diego, CA) a medical device company and developer of tests to measure response to antiplatelet drugs, closed a $28.8M Series D financing. Participants include Arnerich Massena & Associates, BBT Fund, Essex Woodland Health Ventures, RiverVest, PTV Sciences, KB Partners and Kaiser Permanente Ventures.

Taligen Therapeutics (Aurora, CO) a development stage biotechnology company focused on the treatment of serious inflammatory diseases including asthma, macular degeneration and immune kidney disease closed a $65M Series B financing. Participants include Alta Partners, Clarus Ventures, Sanderling Ventures, Tango and High Country Venture.
